Michelle has lived in Scarborough, Maine for eleven years, moving to Maine after spending summers sailing in Casco Bay. She grew up in New York, moved to New Hampshire to attend college in the early 70's and settled in Harrisville, a beautiful historic mill town. She worked with a small group of young architects and engineers who became one of the leading passive solar energy design firms in the country.
Michelle moved back to New York to get her degree at the New School of Interior Design. She then attended Lehman College in the Bronx. Michelle graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Psychology, with a speciality in Addictions. She became a substance abuse counselor and worked in the HIV community at the height of the epidemic.
In 1993, she moved back to New Hampshire to pursue her public health career. For the past ten years, she has managed a six state initiative working to eliminate racial and ethnic health disparities, leading a team of thirty five, representing state and federal governments,community based organizations, and colleges and universities. Through this experience she has learned how to do strategic planning , project management, and creative problem solving, which are very important skills in the real estate business. Michelle also started her own interior design business and helped introduce real estate staging to Maine. Michelle was featured on local television shows doing "before and after" segments on redesigning and staging.
Michelle, and her husband Wally, have been married for 26 years and love living in Maine. They have built and restored several homes together. They have three children, Emily who lives in Scarborough, and Trystan and his sister Rhianwyn who both live in Tunbridge Wells, England. Rhianwyn has a lovely, little boy, named Christian, who will soon be five.
